Sustainable Mobility Junior Research Associate

Reporting to the Head of the Urban Mobility Lab, the Sustainable Mobility Junior Research Associate will contribute to the knowledge products and consultation services underpinning the TfC mobility vision.
The Sustainable Mobility Jr RA combines technical knowledge in the fields of transport policy and planning with stakeholder management skills to produce informed reports and recommendations to clients and beneficiaries.

Responsibilities
Analysis, Research & Production
- Mobility analysis: Collect and analyze data about transport and mobility governance and operational structures using different data collection methods.
- Research methods: Plan, develop, and conduct data collection for qualitative and quantitative data including via interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, and literature review of knowledge reports, policy papers, decrees and laws.
- Stakeholder mapping and analysis: Identify and analyze stakeholders, examine groups, social institutions and businesses. Explore stakeholder relationships and interests.
- Research production: Prepare technical reports to present policy analysis activities and findings/recommendations.
- Report writing: Prepare findings for publication and contribute to report design, document management, technical writing, document closure, reviewing and editing (copy & style).
- Dissemination and capacity development: Prepare research findings for dissemination purposes including via report slide decks, publication pages, training material, social media infographs and posts etc.
Data Visualization
- Contributing to knowledge and communication projects through data visualization using MS Office Suite. Skills in Adobe and Illustrator are an advantage, but not a requirement.
Requirements
- A university degree in a related field such as Urban Planning, Political Science, Economics, Sociology or Public Policy is required. A Master’s degree is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel and Word), with knowledge of other presentational and organizational products or multi-media tools is an advantage.
- Fluency in English and Arabic are required; knowledge of French is an advantage.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience in urban planning, policy and international development context.
- Knowledge of and interest in transport and mobility environment in Egypt is preferred. Regional knowledge (Africa and MENA Region) is an advantage.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- High-level internal and external communication and presentation skills and ability to interact with a diverse set of professional disciplines, partners, and stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
