Environmental Graphic Designer

Transport for Cairo (TfC) is seeking a talented Environmental Graphic Designer to join our team in improving the public transport experience through clear, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing Passenger Information Systems (PIS). This role involves designing bus station maps, wayfinding, and information displays for a major bus network, ensuring passengers have reliable and easy-to-understand information.

The position is project-based and full-time, with a focus on delivering key milestones by the end of December.

Your Responsibilities 

  • Develop base maps by tracing geographic contexts accurately to ensure maps reflect real-world layouts.
  • Design clear, functional bus line maps that highlight key connections and points of interest.
  • Develop local maps for specific stations, showcasing travel options within walkable ranges.
  • Design & layout timetables showing bus frequencies and scheduling.
  • Present design concepts visually and verbally to clients and team members.
  • Produce high-resolution digital files for displays and prints, manage source files for consistency, and prepare a comprehensive handover package with all specifications.

Role Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with an agile team, maintaining close communication with both local and international stakeholders.
  • Advanced Knowledge of Illustrator is a must
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCad is a must
  • Working with a 3D rendering program is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Applied Arts or similar
  • English – high proficiency, verbal & written communication
  • Arabic – high proficiency, verbal & written communication
