In Dodoma, Tanzania, Transport for Cairo is supporting the integration of paratransit (Daladala) services into the wider public transport reform process. The work combines comprehensive field data collection – onboard, frequency and traffic surveys across the Daladala network – with analysis to characterize market shares, routes and operational patterns. The resulting transit dataset and business plan framework give the public authority an evidence base for negotiating fair industry transition arrangements and integrating paratransit operators into the formal system.
